Full Movie Free Bollywood.JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - FIFA President Sepp Blatter and former UEFA President Michel Platini have been charged with corruption and money laundering by Swiss authorities, according to a document seen by Reuters on Monday.
The Swiss government said on Sunday that FIFA had been informed of an investigation into alleged crimes within the organization, but Blatter said he had not been served any papers, a statement on the office of the Swiss attorney general said.
“FIFA can confirm that there are ongoing proceedings, but we have not yet been served with any papers,” a FIFA spokesman told Reuters.
Blatter and Platini have been under investigation for months, with reports that both had been threatened with arrest if they attended the FIFA congress in Zurich in May.
Both men denied any wrongdoing and Platini’s lawyer said the 75-year-old, UEFA’s former chief executive, was also being investigated by authorities in France.
The Swiss attorney general’s office said on Monday there had been no change in the status of the investigations.
“They are still being investigated,” a spokesman for the office said.
The U.S. Department of Justice’s investigation of FIFA is also ongoing and it is possible that evidence or witness information may lead to further charges, sources have told Reuters.
Blatter, 79, was re-elected to his fifth term as FIFA President in May when the body only narrowly avoided a crisis when Platini lost to Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, the Emir of Jordan.
Prince Ali, a FIFA vice president, was widely seen as Blatter’s preferred candidate after Platini was forced out of UEFA’s top job in 2011 following the conflict-of-interest allegations.
Blatter has dismissed the allegations as politically motivated.
